Community Spirit
Friends of deFremery is one of those
organic community service projects,
born of necessity and pure love. The
group is committed to ensuring that the
same educational, physical fitness, and
artistic services that were available at
deFremery Park when they were
children are afforded to children today.
Friends of deFremery understands the
richness of culture, intellectual/ artistic
resource, and good old fashioned wisdom
that resides in West Oakland.
Friends of deFremery sees the use of
public parks and open space as the right
of every person. It is especially
important for children in learning a
sense of personal ownership in the
community which nourishes them.
Friends of deFremery reaches out to
neighborhood children and parents,
bringing them together to engage in
community services.
The entire community is invited to
support the work of Friends of
deFremery in providing safe, fun,
sustainable, yar-round activities for
children and their families.

How You Can Help

FUN TIME SUMMER PROGRAM!
You can be the reason one child benefits
from outdoor activities, arts programs,
and the support of positive engaged
adults.
A $500 donation sponsors a child for the
entire Fun Time Summer Program.
The child you sponsor will participate in
programming from 10AM-5PM
Mondays through Friday.
Children receive a commemorative
t-shirt and take a field trip every
Friday!
